Horst Abraham

Horst Abraham has a long and distinguished career in the Alpine skiing world in Europe and the United States. He holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Vienna, Austria. He earned his national Ski-coaching and Mountain-guide Certifications from the national training centers in France and Austria. He added US Nordic and Alpine Certification in 1972 and developed a teaching methodology that has been incorporated into the training of US Alpine Ski Coaches and the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA). . He served as the Vice President of Education and Development of PSIA from 1970 to 1978 as well as Director of Training and Development at Vail Resorts from 1970 to 1981.

He is still an avid Alpine skier and mountain biker and has been a nationally ranked, competitive sailor. He was inducted into the Colorado-Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in 2014 and the National Ski Hall of Fame in 2015. In 1982 Horst co-founded a Seattle based education and training firm, SportsMind, Inc. He is now an adjunct faculty member of the Executive Education Program at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He has worked with the top executives of many Fortune 500 firms in the US and abroad to support a variety of change, innovation and turnaround interventions.

He now lives in Vail, Colorado and commutes to work in Ann Arbor Michigan or wherever clients require his assistance here and abroad.
